  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup maple syrup or honey
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 medium apple, diced
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • Optional: ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

 


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix dry ingredients
    • In a large bowl, combine oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add wet ingredients
    • Stir in milk, egg, maple syrup, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Fold in add-ins
    • Gently fold in diced apples and chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
  5. Bake
    • Pour mixture into prepared dish and bake 30–35 minutes, until golden and set in the center.
  6. Serve
    • Cool slightly before cutting. Serve warm as is, or drizzle with extra maple syrup.
