- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Pinch of salt
For Assembly
- 2 cups pita bread, toasted or fried pieces
- 1 cup warm chickpeas
- 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- 2 tbsp pine nuts or almonds
- Paprika or cumin for garnish
- Fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Hummus
- Blend chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, and salt
- Process until smooth and creamy
- Add a splash of water if needed for texture
Make the Yogurt Sauce
- Combine yogurt, garlic, and salt
- Mix until smooth
- Refrigerate until ready to assemble
Toast the Bread
- Cut pita into bite-size pieces
- Toast or fry until golden and crisp
- Set aside
Assemble the Fattet
- Spread toasted bread in serving dish
- Spoon warm chickpeas over bread
- Add hummus layer
- Drizzle yogurt sauce
- Heat olive oil or butter and toast nuts
- Pour nuts and oil on top
- Garnish with spices and parsley
