Instructions

1. Marinate the Steak

  • In a bowl or zip-top bag, whisk together all marinade ingredients.
  • Add flank steak and coat evenly.
  • Seal and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably 4–8 hours.
  • Remove from fridge 30 minutes before cooking to bring to room temperature.

2. Grill or Sear

  • Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
  • Remove steak from marinade and pat dry (reserve some marinade if you want to cook it down into a sauce).
  • Grill or sear for 4–6 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
  • Let rest for 5–10 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.

3. Serve

  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve with rice, stir-fried veggies, or noodle salad.
