Description

If you’re craving a sauce that hits every corner of your palate, this Mango Habanero Honey Garlic Sauce is your flavor bomb. It’s fruity, fiery, sweet, and garlicky, made with fresh mango, habanero chilies, sticky honey, and aromatic garlic. Use it as a glaze, marinade, dip, or wing sauce—it’s incredibly versatile and undeniably addictive.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and chopped
  • 23 habanero peppers, seeded for less heat (leave seeds in for 🔥)
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp water (for thickening)

Instructions

  • Sauté the aromatics:
    • In a small saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté garlic for 1–2 minutes until fragrant (do not brown).
  • Blend the sauce:
    • In a blender, combine mango, habaneros, sautéed garlic, honey, vinegar, soy sauce, and lime juice. Blend until smooth.
  • Simmer:
    • Pour mixture back into the saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Thicken (optional):
    • If you prefer a thicker glaze-style sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry and simmer for 2–3 minutes until glossy.
  • Cool and store:
    • Let cool before storing in a sealed jar in the fridge. Keeps for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Customize the Heat: Adjust the spice level by using more or fewer habanero peppers, or swap in a milder chili like jalapeño for a gentler kick.
  • Opt for Fresh Mango: Fresh mango puree delivers the most vibrant flavor, but store-bought mango pulp is a convenient alternative.
  • Store Properly: Transfer the cooled sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to one week.
