For the Dumplings

  • 3036 dumpling wrappers (round or square)
  • ½ lb ground chicken, pork, turkey, or finely chopped mushrooms (for vegetarian)
  • 1 cup finely shredded cabbage
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg (for sealing)

For Baking

  • 23 tbsp vegetable oil (for brushing)

For the Peanut Sauce

  • ⅓ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lime juice
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 12 tbsp warm water (to thin)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp chili flakes or Sriracha (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dumpling Filling

  1. In a bowl, mix ground meat or mushrooms with cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Stir until well combined.

2. Assemble the Dumplings

  1. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper.
  2. Brush edges lightly with beaten egg.
  3. Fold and pinch to seal (half-moon or pleated shape).
  4. Arrange dumplings on a parchment-lined sheet pan.

3. Bake the Dumplings

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Brush dumplings generously with oil.
  3. Bake 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.

4. Make the Peanut Sauce

  1. Whisk peanut butter, soy sauce, vinegar/lime, honey, sesame oil, garlic powder, chili flakes, and warm water.
  2. Adjust thickness by adding more water.

5. Serve

  • Arrange dumplings on a platter.
  • Serve warm alongside the peanut dipping sauce.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds or cilantro if desired.
