- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 lemon, halved
- 1 tsp salt
- For the Zesty Cocktail Sauce
- ¾ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp prepared horseradish (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp hot sauce (optional)
- Freshly ground black pepper
- For Assembly
- Small serving cups or shot glasses
- Fresh parsley or dill, finely chopped
- Lemon wedges
Instructions
- 1. Cook the Shrimp
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil with lemon halves and salt.
- Add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes, until pink and opaque.
- Immediately transfer shrimp to an ice bath to stop cooking.
- Drain and pat dry.
- 2. Make the Cocktail Sauce
- In a bowl, whisk together ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, lemon zest, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and black pepper until smooth.
- 3. Assemble the Cups
- Spoon cocktail sauce into the bottom of each cup.
- Arrange shrimp on top or tuck them around the rim.
- Garnish with fresh herbs.
- 4. Serve
- Serve chilled, accompanied by lemon wedges on the side.
