For the Cake

- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon salt

- 3 cups fresh apples, peeled and chopped

For the Caramel Glaze
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Batter
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a bowl whisk together:
- Flour
- Baking soda
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Salt
2️⃣ Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl combine:
- Granulated sugar
- Brown sugar
- Oil
- Eggs
- Vanilla
Mix until smooth.
3️⃣ Combine
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
- Fold in diced apples and pecans.
4️⃣ Bake
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
5️⃣ Make Caramel Glaze
- Melt butter in a saucepan.
- Add brown sugar and cream.
- Simmer for 3–5 minutes until smooth.
- Stir in vanilla and salt.
6️⃣ Finish
Pour warm caramel glaze over the warm cake. Let set before slicing.
