  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 200g (7 oz) cream cheese (softened, block form)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (dark or semi-sweet)
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder (enhances chocolate flavor)

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat & Prepare

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and line a loaf pan.

2️⃣ Make the Banana Batter

  1. In a bowl, mix mashed bananas, sugars, and melted butter.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  3. Stir in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips if using.

3️⃣ Prepare Cream Cheese Layer

In another bowl, beat:

  • Cream cheese
  • Sugar
  • Egg
  • Vanilla

Until smooth and creamy.

4️⃣ Assemble

  1. Pour half of the chocolate banana batter into the pan.
  2. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly.
  3. Top with remaining batter.
  4. Swirl lightly with a knife.

5️⃣ Bake
