Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
If using puff pastry:
- Thaw according to package instructions
If making from scratch:
- Mix flour, yeast, milk, sugar, and butter
- Allow the dough to rest and rise
- Roll and fold multiple times to create layers
Step 2: Make the Cream Cheese Filling
- Combine cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla
- Mix until smooth and creamy
- Avoid lumps for best texture
Step 3: Roll and Shape the Pastry
- Roll dough into a rectangle
- Cut into equal squares
- Lightly score edges to help puffing
Step 4: Fill and Assemble
- Add filling to the center
- Fold corners inward or leave open
