- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (45–50 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup (95 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (85 g) semisweet chocolate chips, optional
Instructions

- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
- Whisk the eggs and sugar together. Add the vanilla and melted butter.
- Fold in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined. Add chocolate chips if using.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- Place the frozen Nutella layer on top, leaving a small border.
- Cover with the remaining brownie batter.
- Bake for approximately 25–35 minutes, checking the edges and top for doneness.
- Cool completely before lifting out and slicing into squares.
Notes
- Freeze the Nutella until firm enough to handle.
- Avoid overmixing after adding the flour.
- Do not rely solely on a toothpick test if it touches the Nutella filling.
- Allow the brownies to cool before cutting for cleaner slices.
