For the Filling
- 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin
- 1 package (3 oz) berry blue gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water (for each gelatin flavor)
For the Topping
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
- Fresh strawberries, sliced
- Fresh blueberries
- Red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Bake the Cake
- Prepare and bake the white cake according to package directions in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Allow the cake to cool for about 15 minutes.
Step 2: Poke the Cake
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes evenly across the entire cake.
- Space the holes about 1 inch apart.
Step 3: Prepare the Gelatin
- Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the berry blue gelatin in 1 cup boiling water.
Step 4: Add the Colors
- Carefully pour the red gelatin into half of the holes.
- Pour the blue gelatin into the remaining holes.
- Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until fully chilled.
Step 5: Add the Topping
- Spread the whipped topping evenly over the chilled cake.
