- 1–2 ripe avocados
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Juice of 1 lime
- Salt and pepper
- Optional:

- Sesame oil
- Chili flakes
- Fresh herbs
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Tuna
- Pat the tuna dry with paper towels
- Season generously with salt and pepper
- Optional: lightly coat with sesame seeds for added texture
Step 2: Prepare the Avocado
You can choose your preferred style:
Option 1: Avocado slices
- Slice thinly and drizzle with lime juice
Option 2: Avocado salsa
- Dice avocado
- Mix with:
- Lime juice
- Salt
- Optional diced onion or chili
Option 3: Avocado mash
- Mash avocado with lime juice and seasoning for a creamy base
Step 3: Heat the Pan
- Heat your pan over high heat
- Add oil and let it shimmer
- The pan must be very hot before adding tuna
Step 4: Sear the Tuna
- Place tuna in the pan
- Sear for:
- 1–2 minutes per side for rare
- 2–3 minutes per side for medium
Step 5: Rest and Slice
- Remove tuna from heat
- Let it rest for 2–3 minutes
- Slice thinly against the grain
Step 6: Plate the Dish
- Arrange avocado on the plate
- Place sliced tuna on top or beside it

- Sesame seeds
